Exalt The New God
In modern day, during a time of crisis, we look to our television for the answers of what is happening in the world around us. It seems like faith is transferred from what historically we looked to (a God of sorts) to the images we see on the screen. In Exalt The New God I have created an alter for the television set. Inside the alter itself contains a blindfolded statue of Jesus illuminated by ultraviolet light reminiscent of the inner-workings of a television set. Some question whether or not our “higher power” has closed his eyes and let the world go on in chaos. [March 2005]
