Portrait of a Voyeur
Portrait of a Voyeur is a commentary on surveillance and voyeurism. The installation consists of two television monitors on opposite sides of a room. One monitor plays a video sequence appropriated from the movie Sliver, which contains sensationalized surveillance footage. Above this monitor is a security camera, and then live footage is then displayed on the second monitor on the opposite side of the room. As the viewer is watching the surveillance footage they too are being watched. [November 2008]
