- Weekend at Bernie's (Sweded Film)
A Swede version of the filmWeekend at Bernie's for the Tampa Bay Swede Fest.
- Leave the gun. Take the cannoli. A cat's a better mother than you.
Video & sound composed from frames extracted from the films "Gone With the Wind" & "The Godfather" to create a new visual and aural narrative.
- Dreams : Acts 1 - 5
As part of my collaboration with Aaron Hutcheson, our current studio project focuses on the idea of dreams. We are creating audiovisual narrations from dream recounts we have found on internet message forums. A narrator communicates a dream through first-person narration and we take that footage and expand upon it through the use of collage, appropriation and original content.
- Glory Hole 2000
As part of the exhibition Conceptual Distraction, a mini-golf themed art exhibit put on by Putt Plug, I created a mini-golf hole reminiscent of a truck stop bathroom, complete with a working tampon machine and (you probably could have guessed it by the title of the piece) a glory hole
- Synesthesia
Synesthesia is a ongoing collaboration with long time collaborative partner Aaron Hutcheson. These live audio/video improvisations are often telecast via online streaming from remote locations.
- Bullshit Anecdotes
Bullshit Anecdotes is a collection of three audio tracks released in the Fall of 2009. The material contains found sounds, computer generated, audio along with vintage synthesizers, drum machines and keyboards. Parts of the audio was recorded at SYCOM located on the campus of the University of South Florida.
- F*ck Art, Kill Something
The idea for this image came to me when I was back home in Tennessee knee deep in art theory and feeling overwhelmed. I was driving around my hometown and kept noticing large amounts of roadkill on the streets. For some reason I had a feeling that what I was worried about was all wrong.. Fuck Art, Kill Something.
- Hookers and Autobots (Audio Commentaries)
Hookers and Autobots is the generic name I have assigned to the DVD-style audio commentaries I have been recording for popular films. I chose random movies that I had no physical connection with and recorded an improvisational commentary track to go with them. Originally this project started by recording these commentaries myself and then realized I that adding another person to the mix would help the overall flow. The commentaries turned into a dialogue that branched off into random subjects that had some vague origin with the original film but no logical parallel.
- Tom Cruise Comic Panels
The Tom Cruise Comic Panels are a tongue-in-cheek focus on one of the most exposed Hollywood personalities. Most of us have some sort of familiarity with this person and we project our own ideas and perceptions onto him. We passively or actively relate to his persona and his familiarity grows. The statements themselves don’t necessarily have any validity. They are just an exaggeration of who we think this person is.
- 100 Bootlegged Videos
100 Bootlegged Videos is exactly that, 100 copies of pirated movies for the audience to take home and do with them as they will. A small informational card about fair use is included and hopefully will spark some interest and further reading on what fair use is, what it implies, and what it protects.
- Top Ten Grossing Films of 2009
A series of ten email messages have been printed out to represent the ten highest grossing films of 2009. Each one of these emails signifies a copyright violation sent for downloading a pirated movie in turn representing the movie to it’s fullest potential.
- American vs. Anti-American
The American and Anti-American prints contain the FBI Anti-Piracy Logo and the Fair Use logo. Neither have been recognized as either American or Anti-American, leaving the judgment of which one is which up to the viewer.
- $2,728,483,199 of Product on a Ninety-Nine Cent Video Tape
$2,728,483,199 of Product on a Ninety-Nine Cent Video Tape is an edition of 3 VHS copies of James Cameron’s Avatar. The highest grossing movie of all time, also a purely digital movie, was never meant to be on a dead format like VHS. I have downgraded the quality of the film by placing it on this format, but at the same time increased the value of the tape itself by making it gold.
- Ten Richest Actors in Glorious 3-D
The Ten Richest Actors in Glorious 3-D project features the wealthiest actors made into anaglyph 3-D images. The titles of the pieces are not representative of who the actor is or what role they are playing rather the dollar amount of their net worth and the value we as consumers place on them.
- I Hate You M. Night Shyamalan
I Hate You M. Night Shyamalan is a video diary about my frustrations towards this “visionary” director, complete with important scenes from the movies he has made.
- My Cat Is Cooler Than You
In this day and age I am not sure that anyone can go on with his or her day without interacting with the Internet in some way, shape or form – I certainly can not. To play into the fascination I have with internet phenomenon’s I tried to create an ...
- An Obeisance to Marshall Applewhite
An Obeisance to Marshall Applewhite is a hotel room installation included in Showtel 8 at Hotel Biba in West Palm Beach, Florida. Teaming together with Jordi Williams we created a installation that transformed the room into a new realm.
- How To Make Friends and Destroy Enemies
How To Make Friends and Destroy Enemies is part of a 3 channel / 3 artist collaboration along with Daniel Moore and Brinson Renda at Platform's "Art in Motion" exhibition in Lakeland, Florida.
- Male Chauvinist Pig (Ode to Biff)
Chauvinism, in its original and primary meaning, is an exaggerated, bellicose patriotism and a blind belief in national superiority and glory. Male chauvinism has occurred probably since the dawn of man and it continuities to this day. As a symbol of the penultimate male, imagery of Sean Connery appears in a storefront window with typical male chauvinistic jokes superimposed overtop.
- FUSpaceman
FU Spaceman is an evolving collaborative project with Zak Hemsteger and Ryann Slauson. The project came to fruition during the Contain It! exhibition in Dunedin, Florida. For the exhibition, artists were invited to create an installation inside a movable storage POD. The idea of having a contained space started to become relative to the ideas of space travel and eventually evolved in the idea of containing oneself in a space pod.
- disLocation Tampa
disLocation Tampa was a collaborative exhibit with Justin Martin. At the center of the exhibition are 1600 photographs, all pulled from the photosharing site Flickr, all triggered from the keyword Tampa.
- What The ƒüçk…

- Black and Jones - Lullaby [REMIX]
While thinking about the artform that is the remix, I started to remix other artist video works. Black and Jones - Lullaby is a very sweet lullaby that is intended to be just that. In my remix, I have not altered any of the original concepts, though I ...
- Greed is Good.
A collaborative exhibition as part of [ fladry + jones ] dealing with corporate greed, corruption, and the coming collapse of America as we know it.
- The UnEpic Trilogy
The UnEpic Trilogy are large format prints of landscape photographs, showing a beautiful and lush terrain. These are all screen shots from the Lord of the Ring trilogy of films and contained no characters and CGI. The films were so heavily-ladened with computer generated imagery that is hard to imagine the landscapes appearing in nature. By doing this I have taken the viewer out of filmmaking mode and into the reality that exists without leaving the confines of the media.
- One Sided Conversation
In this video I have removed the dialogue and footage of the second person of a conversation. This allows the viewer to fill in the blanks of the conversation and also recollect what this scene from the film is really about.
- The Artist
This public art project consisted of two rear-video-projections onto a storefront window of hands rolling cigars. The history of Tampa is long and varied, and includes the civil war, Spanish American war, and English colonial rule. One of the most defining moments in Tampa's history however was the cigar industry.
- Micro
On December 10, 2008 Robb Fladry and Barry R. Jones, [ fladry + jones ] joined up for a live online collaboration with fellow media artist Jason Sloan. The December 10th collaboration was a live, online convergence joining our geographic dislocation (Fladry in Tampa Florida, Jones in Nashville, Tennessee and Sloan in Baltimore, Maryland). MICRO loosely addressed the theme of "human rights" since by coincidence the day of the performance happened to be human rights day. MICRO incorporated the manipulation of live streaming video and a live twitter feed filtered for posts addressing human rights overlay the video.
- The Daily Devotion
The Daily Devotion, is a series of 30 videos, one for each day of the month, which contain a central figure that seemed to be engaging an audience. The figures are blurred so the viewer could not tell who was on screen and the audio distorted in a way that you could not understand any of the words they were saying. Human beings are always looking for someone to give us direction and answers – whether it be a religious figure, a parent, a politician or a motivational speaker. We look upon someone else for guidance, but don’t always make the correct choice.
- In Exchange For Money
In Exchange For Money reflects the idealism of how Hollywood depicts the prostitute. Using footage from both Pretty Woman and American Psycho, the video exemplifies the highs and lows of how we see this profession. The stark contrast between the scenes is indicative of how the prostitute is both the princess and the victim.
- Portrait of a Voyeur
Portrait of a Voyeur is a commentary on surveillance and voyeurism. The installation consists of two television monitors on opposite sides of a room. One monitor plays a video sequence appropriated from the movie Sliver, which contains sensationalized surveillance footage. Above this monitor is a security camera, and then live footage is then displayed on the second monitor on the opposite side of the room. As the viewer is watching the surveillance footage they too are being watched.

- A Four Minute History Lesson
A Four Minute History Lesson serves as both a lesson in political history (since the 1980's) and as a technical exercise in creating mash-up news segments to creative a narrative work. Let's hope we learn from the mistakes of the past.
- Subliminal Intent
Subliminal Intent focuses on the perception of images which evoke emotional responses. Various imagery is juxtaposed with text focusing causing the viewer to have the opposite feeling in context to the video they are seeing.
- Without A Face
Without A Face is a painting of a faceless man. A video projection is overlayed on the painting giving him a face of sorts. These ideas and thoughts we have sometimes become our face, appearing as our outward image. [April 2006]
- American Dreams
American Dreams is based off an idea I had that every American at some point in their life wants to become President. President John F. Kennedy is known for many things, most notably his assassination during a parade in Dallas, Texas on November 22, 19...
- Reiteration
Reiteration shows a building being demolished, accompanied by a soundtrack of annoying nosies, and seamlessly being rebuilt. The video parallels the everyday challenges of ones life. Fall down. Rebuild. Repeat.
- Fear: Part One [Claustrophobia]
To enter the installation viewers must enter a dark confined space with loud music and flashing video projections. Video monitors playing a synced two channel video show the image of a face with the eyes closed. Text scrolls across both screens containing information about claustrophobia. A large projection covering two walls shows the face of a blindfolded man in panic. Descriptions of the ailments of claustrophobia also flash on the screen.
- Together.
Times two. {press release hostages}
- Two Barrels
Two Barrels is a sculptural video piece done in collaboration with Christopher Johnson. Two oil "symbolic" oil barrels sit on a wood pallet. One of the barrels contains a video monitor while a video projection pours over both barrels. The video contains time-lapse video footage observing consumerism and crude oil consumption.
- Exalt The New God
In modern day, during a time of crisis, we look to our television for the answers of what is happening in the world around us. It seems like faith is transferred from what historically we looked to (a God of sorts) to the images we see on the screen. I...
- A Choice of Parallel Opposites
A Choice of Parallel Opposites was part of the exhibition Sideshow that revolved around the theme of good versus evil.
