FUSpaceman
FU Spaceman is an evolving collaborative project with Zak Hemsteger and Ryann Slauson. The project came to fruition during the Contain It! exhibition in Dunedin, Florida. For the exhibition, artists were invited to create an installation inside a movable storage POD. The idea of having a contained space started to become relative to the ideas of space travel and eventually evolved in the idea of containing oneself in a space pod.
The live a/v performances contain video and intimate soundscapes produced by myself while both Zak and Ryann play drum kits, while we as a whole create a live improvisation related to our surroundings. While the first performance was in a contained space, we have continued to approach the ideas in new ways taking to performing at new venues and events. [February 2010 - Current]

Black and Jones – Lullaby [REMIX]
While thinking about the artform that is the remix, I started to remix other artist video works. Black and Jones – Lullaby is a very sweet lullaby that is intended to be just that. In my remix, I have not altered any of the original concepts, though I have added elements that bring on a dark and ominous feeling about the video. [October 2009]

Micro
On December 10, 2008 Robb Fladry and Barry R. Jones, [ fladry + jones ] joined up for a live online collaboration with fellow media artist Jason Sloan. The December 10th collaboration was a live, online convergence joining our geographic dislocation (Fladry in Tampa Florida, Jones in Nashville, Tennessee and Sloan in Baltimore, Maryland). MICRO loosely addressed the theme of “human rights” since by coincidence the day of the performance happened to be human rights day. MICRO incorporated the manipulation of live streaming video and a live twitter feed filtered for posts addressing human rights overlay the video. [December 2008]

Metropolis Remix
Metropolis Remix: Live is a performance version of Fritz Lang’s 1927 dystopian film, Metropolis, which has become one of the cornerstones in 20th and 21st century art. In the original, Lang portrayed a society deeply divided by class distinctions – the workers vs. the ruling class. The story is not only timeless, but the visuals are breath-taking, and artists, sculptors, film makers, dancers and comic book artist have been quoting – if not outright stealing – from it since its premiere. Sound and artists and musicians, too, return again and again to the film, scoring and rescoring the movie with jazz, heavy metal, techno and ambient soundtracks.
Live performances occurred at Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tennessee; Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, Kentucky; The Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore, Maryland; Emory and Henry College in Emory, Virgina; and Elon University in Elon, North Carolina.
Installations based upon the performance existed at Western Kentucky University and Elon University. Metropolis Remix was also included in Sight Sound Interaction 2.0 at the Maryland Institute College of Art.
Metropolis Remix: Live was a collaborative effort as part of [ fladry + jones ] with music and sound by Kell Black aka DJ Black Noise. [October 2006, March 2007]
